Seeking Leaders in Law, Business, and Medicine
ACA Health Benefits Fund Board

ACA Health Benefits Fund, the private health insurance fund of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, is seeking Expressions of Interest for appointments to its Board of Directors.

 

As an APRA-regulated, not-for-profit fund, ACA Health has been serving the Adventist community for 9 decades with a strong commitment to putting members first. We are now looking to strengthen our Board with leaders who bring expertise, judgement, and a commitment to mission-driven governance.

 

We are particularly interested in individuals with professional backgrounds and proven experience in one or more of the following areas:

  1. Law and Governance – Qualified lawyers admitted to practice, with expertise in corporate governance, regulation, compliance, or risk management.
  2. Business Growth and Strategy – Senior executives with experience in marketing, business development, member acquisition, sales strategy, or brand-building, particularly in growth-focused organisations.
  3. Medicine and Healthcare – Practicing or former medical doctors with clinical, diagnostic, hospital administration, or healthcare sector experience, ideally with insight into the intersection of healthcare and insurance.

Additional experience within the health, insurance, or financial services industries will be viewed favourably.

Sales Representative

This is a full-time on-site role for a Sales Representative located in Wahroonga, NSW. The Sales Representative is responsible for following up leads and assisting prospective customers in selecting the best health insurance policies offered by ACA Health Benefits Fund. This role involves conducting sales presentations at various meetings and events, providing information on policy options, addressing member enquiries, and following up on marketing leads. This dynamic position combines relationship-building, sales expertise, and industry knowledge to achieve targets and contribute to the organisation’s success.

 

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service:

  • Act as the primary contact for prospective members, responding to inquiries via telephone, email, and video conferencing.
  • Ensure all discussions about new memberships are confirmed in writing and entered into our CRM.
  • Maintain the integrity of prospective membership records and update the database regularly.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service and Membership Representatives to ensure smooth onboarding of new members.

Sales and Membership:

  • Sell ACA Health’s private health insurance products through cold calling and warm leads, completing policy comparisons, and providing face-to-face sales support.
  • Build key customer relationships to identify and attend meetings with sales potential.
  • Represent ACA Health at various meetings and work sites, preparing and delivering engaging sales presentations.
  • Conduct product comparison and quote services.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ACA Health products, market conditions, competitors’ offerings, and sales strategies.
  • Submit weekly sales activity reports and provide product comparison feedback to management.
  • Contribute to planning, coordinating, and evaluating processes to maximize resources and growth.
  • Embrace change, technology, and innovation to improve workplace practices, performance, and service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Proven sales experience, preferable in a similar role.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel to various sites and national events as required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications are a plus
